Living

Irwell River Park flows through a number of communities and neighbourhoods. Over the past decade many of the areas have seen major regeneration and growth and now the Park area and its fringes is home to a large residential population with a number of successful quarters such as Salford Quays, Castlefield and the North Quarter. Irwell River Park is going to have a positive impact on all who live in the area as local residents will have 8km of urban realm to enjoy and relax in.

Working

The Park will create important connections between commercial areas such as Spinningfields, Salford Quays and MediaCity, which have developed in isolation from each other until now. The links created by Irwell River Park will mean the region will be able to function as a whole and projections show, by 2014, Irwell River Park will support the creation of 3,580 jobs from £12million of new investment.

Leisure

With iconic landmarks such as The Lowry, The Imperial War Museum North and Ordsall Hall on its banks, Irwell River Park is an area of great cultural wealth. Tourists and locals alike will be able to benefit from the new connections the Park will create between these areas of cultural interest.
